Kuniyoshi Vintage Japanese Samurai Imagawa Yoshimo Postcard

This vintage Japanese art postcard features the woodblock print depicting samurai hero Imagawa Yoshimoto from Kuniyoshi’s series Taiheiki Eiyuden or “Heroes of the Great Peace” (1846-47). One of the last great names in the Japanese ukiyo-e style, ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi was an undisputed master of the warrior woodblock print. Born in Tokyo in 1797, he became an apprentice to a famous print master at the age of 12.
