The Koala is a marsupial from Australia. The koala was made a protected species in 1937 but no laws are in place to protect the gum trees that they use for food and shelter. Koalas biggest threat is habitat loss from land clearing, bushfires, disease, threats from foxes and dogs and accidental deaths from vehicles. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
