Kitchen Towel - Red Anthurium Twins

These open, heart-shaped flowers of tropical origin are also known as "flamingo flowers", "boy flowers", "painted tongues" and "painter's palettes" and symbolise hospitality, making them an excellent choice in host/hostess gifting. These exotic blooms are also thought to bring luck and protect against evil. Some "old wives' tales" say that when the flower closes, it means rain is coming. Mythology, however, tells us that the petals close at sunset in order to provide sleeping quarters for magical fairies. These fairies, in turn, enchant the flowers which is why they are so long lasting. Red anthuriums are representative of a "burning passion" or "intense attraction from the heart". Anthuriums also symbolise happiness and abundance. These dramatic blooms add a lovely element to this charming kitchen towel. It is shown in a "folded in half" orientation because I am always leaving mine draped over the oven handle.
