Your invitations will be printed on a choice of six shapes and twelve beautiful paper types, from linen to felt to champagne shimmer.
Why Have a Kitchen Tea?
Traditionally, a kitchen tea was a pre-wedding celebration when female friends and family members would give the bride items for her kitchen and advice on how to be the perfect housewife. Since this is the twenty-first century and most engaged couples are already living together (with fully stocked and equally shared kitchens), isn’t this a bit old-fashioned? Yes, but it’s still a nice way to include older relatives who might not fancy a wild night out, and for everyone to have some fun and food together! But if you want to keep the housework completely out of it, you might prefer to throw a bridal shower with our bridal shower invitations.
Kitchen Tea Ideas
There are plenty of fun ways to hold a modern kitchen tea, still with a nod to the tradition. So if you’re a bridesmaid or planning your own party, here our some of our favourite kitchen tea themes, ideas and games:
- Embrace the old-fashioned side and hark back to the 1950s with a rockabilly theme. Everyone dresses up with big skirts and pin-curls. Announce the occasion with vintage invitations.
- Throw a Mad Hatter, Alice In Wonderland inspired event in the garden. Set the tables with mismatched crockery, pile up the cakes and you can even ask guests to wear a hat!
- Invite everyone to bring over a homemade dish, and then to share the details on recipe cards printed on Zazzle. Limit it to cakes, add an element of competition and make it a bake-off!
- Alternatively get the girls out and about on a food-themed adventure. Book a cooking class, do a tour of local foodie hotspots or visit a vineyard for a wine tasting.
- Play kitchen tea games like bridal bingo, mad libs or ‘How Well Do You Know the Groom’. You could even set up a full scavenger hunt with prizes and penalities.
- Kitchen Tea or Hen’s Night? We say both! You could have them on the same day with one running on to the other, or plan a completely different event with hen’s night invitations.
