" Kazakhstan: 1992/today - Flaggen Design KAFFEE Mug
The flag of Kazakhstan was introduced on 4 June 1992. It shows various traditional elements and symbols.
The national flag is made of a sky blue cloth and displays a gold-colored pattern on its left edge. This web pattern is intended to represent the folk art of Kazakh Khanat or the Kazakh people. A golden sun with 32 rays and a steppic eagle below the sun is depicted in the center of the flag. Due to the golden color, the eagle in German is sometimes wrongly called "Steinadler". However, it is the steppic eagle (Aquila nipalensis). The design is by Schaken Niyasbekov.
The eagle in the flag symbolizes the Mongolian kingdom of the Jingis Khan. He led the legend to blue banners with an eagle symbol. Today, Kazakhstan was subordinated and integrated by the Mongols between 1219 and 1222. With the symbol of the Steppic Eagle, today's predominantly turquoise population is clearly committed to its mongolian past.
