Jupiter Auroras Greeting Card

Jupiter Auroras Greeting Card

A unique greeting card featuring a Hubble Space Telescope image of Jupiter and its auroras. On the back is an original, scientifically-accurate description written by an astronomer (who happens to enjoy designing cards :)). Fun stuff: Jupiter also experiences auroras similar to the northern lights that occur in Earth's atmosphere. Like on Earth, the glow of the auroras on Jupiter is caused by particles from space being accelerated by the planet's magnetic field and crashing at high speeds into the atoms in the atmosphere. This image was taken not just because it is beautiful, but also because aurora can teach scientists about the magnetic field of Jupiter, which is the largest and most powerful of the planets in the Solar System. In fact, the magnetic field is so big, that if you could see it from Earth with your bare eyes, it would appear five times larger than the full moon. Technical stuff: This image is a composite of several images from two Hubble Space Telescope instruments. The image of the auroras was captured by the ultraviolet-sensitive detector on the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph in 2016. The planet was imaged by the ultraviolet/visible detector of Hubble's workhorse instrument, the Wide Field Camera 3, in 2014. Credits: NASA, ESA, and J. The card itself brought a smile to the face of its recipient and has quickly become a favourite. It has pride of place on the mantle shelf above the fire. The quality of the card, the printing and the overall composition are all excellent.

My grandson liked the card. Your cards are always great quality. I enjoyed being able to use a photo of him in the card, as these cards are keepsakes. The only disappointment was that I couldn’t get a gamer themed card. He is a very passionate gamer.
