Placing the composer out of context in our pop culture-centric world serves as a metaphor for Beethoven’s enduring popularity and rockstar-like status, while the fusion of highbrow and lowbrow elements illustrates that classical music is not just for elitist snobs. All of this is achieved while playing upon the mystery surrounding Beethoven’s so-called Immortal Beloved.
