Join or Die Print
Join, or Die is Benjamin Franklin's political cartoon published in his Pennsylvania Gazette on May 9, 1754. It's the earliest known pictorial representation of colonial union produced by a British colonist in America.
The original was actually a woodcut showing a snake severed into eighths, with each segment labelled with the initial of a British American colony or region. The cartoon appeared along with Franklin's editorial about the "disunited state" of the colonies, and helped make his point about the importance of colonial unity.
During that era, there was a superstition that a snake which had been cut into pieces would come back to life if the pieces were put together before sunset.
We at LibertyManiacs.com have been sporting our line of shirts and products with the original image, but wanted to modernise it to make it relevant to today's patriots. That's why we did a complete redraw of Franklin's Eastern Rattler, chopped him into 50 different sections, and labelled each state. Now - finally - we have a revamped design for all of you liberty maniacs out there spreading the freedom message!

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
