John Bauer Flora 1915 Flowers and hope CC1151 Ceramic Tile

Ceramic tile inspired by a beautiful decorative painting by Swedish painter and illustrator John Bauer (1882–1918). The picture shows a blonde young woman with very long braids. She's surrounded with ornamental flowers and leaves, fruit and birds. She's also holding a bunch of flowers in her arms, loosely, and some of them are already falling to the ground - or perhaps she's planting them? Surrounded with flowers and other living thing, the young woman seems immersed in a state of happiness. The woman looks a little like some of Bauer's princesses, but her name is, of course, Flora, as in the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and renewal.
