Fairy tale poster inspired by a troll illustration by Swedish artist John Bauer. The name of the illustration is Trollen i Domberget vänta främmande (English: The trolls of Domberget are expecting visitors). There is also a fairy tale by Cyrus Granér with the same name.
The picture show eight trolls who look happy and excited, but they may also be a little nervous. They peek behind a large mossy stone and thick tree trunks, hoping to get a glimpse of the visitors, and possibly before the guests get sight of them. Visitors may be a rare experience for these trolls.
Great poster for anyone who loves fairy tales, and especially the charming and humorous troll illustrations of John Bauer.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
