Jasper County Courthouse, Carthage, Missouri Poster

Jasper County Courthouse, Carthage, Missouri Poster

"Jasper County Courthouse, Carthage, Missouri" by Catherine Sherman. The Romanesque Revival-style Jasper County Courthouse in Carthage, Missouri, is the focus of Carthage Square. The grand courthouse with a clock tower and impressive stone facade of Carthage marble is the second-most photographed structure in Missouri. Lush greenery and clear blue skies enhance its majesty on this day in September 2018. The courthouse building, which is only a few blocks from historic U.S. Highway Route 66, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Jasper County was formed in 1841. The Courthouse, which is 176 feet tall, was built on the site of the original Jasper County Courthouse which was burned in 1861 in the Battle of Carthage during the American Civil War. Built from 1894 - 1895, the Jasper County Courthouse was designed by architect Max A. Orlopp Jr. in the Romanesque Revival-style and built using local Carthage marble. The Courthouse remains in use by Jasper County officials.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
