The quote comes from Marianne in Sense & Sensibility: "What have wealth or grandeur to do with happiness?" (Volume I, Chapter 17) Of course, Marianne's idea of scraping by with the bare minimum requires 2,000 pounds a year and allows for servants and a couple of carriages, which Elinor points out most would still consider wealth. It's a great passage and -- even if Marianne with her romantic visions has gotten things wrong -- a lovely quote. Watercolor roses taken from an original painting by award-winning artist, Carolyn Marshall Wright, member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists, signature member of Virginia Watercolor Society.

The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
