A beautiful reminder of who we need to thank for our freedoms. "It is the Veteran" contains powerful words and pictures. The flag in the background is from the home of the retired Marine who flew the plane in combat. The Civil War solders are re-enactors from southern Minnesota, and the cannon is the real thing. But most important are the freedoms their blood, sweat and tears gained and hold for us.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
