Old thatched cottages in Ireland are slowly fading from the landscape. Over the past three decades I have photographed them all over the island capturing scenes from the past that are nostalgically remembered today. This cottage is named Gate Lodge Cottage and is in Adare, Co. Limerick Ireland. Adare is famous for its long line of thatched cottages. Some are antique shops, bookshops and restaurants. This charming cottage is painted yellow with a green door. It is a rental cottage and anyone visting Ireland can call it home for a week or more. This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
