A beautiful young woman is reading a book in the orangery. An orangery is similar to a greenhouse or a conservatory, the name reflects the original use of the building, a place where citrus trees were placed during the winter in tubs under cover. About the artist: Charles Edward Perugini (1839-1918) (born Carlo Perugini) was an English painter of the Victorian Era.
