Painting by Berthe Morisot, a friend of Manet's and granddaughter to Rococo painter Fragonard, and one of the most prominent women painters in late 19th Century France. A well recognised impressionist painter on her own standing, she painted mostly mother and child scenes, and which - aside from their artistic value- lend themselves as decor and to reminisce of Mother's Day and maternal love on any day of the year. This painting is Le Berceau (The Cradle), and it was painted in 1872. It is, today, in the Musée d'Orsay, in Paris.
