[Hitotsuyanagi Kuginuki] Nkuginuki-mon was a carpenter's tool and was favored by samurai families because of the samurai's historical significance in the sense that the word "Kujonuki" was used to refer to the nine castles or "Kujonuki" was used to refer to the nine castles. - The Ichiyanagi clan of Ono Domain, Harima Province (from "Kamon no jiten" by Hitotaru TAKAZAWA): Many monjo including "Monten" describe 'Ichiyanagi Kuginuki,' but "Edo Monshoshu" describes this as 'Ichiyanagi Kuginuki,' and 'Monnoizumi,' respectively, 'Ichiyanagi Kuginuki.'
