As the second president of the Watchtower Society, Joseph "Judge" Rutherford had quite a serious demeanour. But behind that facade was a hard-drinking womanizer who managed to party his way through the Great Depression. While his followers were giving up their entire means of living trying to peddle his magazines, the Judge was riding around in two different Cadillacs, drinking booze during prohibition, and relaxing at a San Diego mansion called "Beth Sarim," where he believed various Bible characters would be resurrected to join him in his party.
