The quality of the cup is better than average. It is hard porcelain, not porous as in it would be very difficult to chip these cups. This is my 4th and not my last! Great personalized gifts, and who doesn't need a coffee or tea cup. The printing has turned out beautifully on each cup I have designed. I usually start with a blank cup and use the provided software to come up with my own personalized design. The colors are vivid and exactly as I sent them off! It is helpful that the software tells you when the image may turn out to be pixelated when the image file is not large enough. Make sure your photos are at least 1MB and larger, depending on what you are designing. I used a 5MB photo for a canvas print and it turned out fabulous!
