The ad clearly states – aside from being for medical use! - 'This is to certify, that we have made a chemical examination of a sample of Gilbert & Parsons, Hygienic Whiskey, and have subjected the same to a careful analysis, testing it especially for fousel oil and other deleterious substances which exist in impure whiskey. We further certify that the result of such analysis proves said whiskey to be pure, of full strength, and entirely free from all injurious ad mixture whatever.' Wow!
