Hyde Park, Boating on the Serpentine Postcard
The Serpentine in London's Hyde Park is a favourite stopping off place for visitors as well as for locals, especially on a warm sunny day, when there is the prospect for a picnic, or refreshments from the pavilion. The wide open green space provides welcome respite from the bustle of the city, and for the more energetic there are boats for hire. This photograph is taken from the north-west side of the park looking across the lake towards the pavilion on just such a warm sunny day. There is a flotilla of boats, and the trees of Horse Guard's parade form a picturesque backdrop, whilst the the tower of the Palace of Westminster can be seen in the distance - complete with the Union Jack flying.
