The Lone Star State has an amazing variety of hummingbirds. A hummingbird lover can find Costa's and Black-chinned hummingbirds, Anna's, Allen's, Blue-throated, and Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, Buff-bellied, Broad-billed, the rare Berylline hummingbird , Calliope, Lucifer, and Rivoli's hummingbirds, as well as Ruby-throated, Rufous, and White-eared hummingbirds in different parts of Texas at different times of the year. There have also been sightings of Mexican Violetear hummingbirds, the Violet-crowned, the Green-breasted Mango and the Amethyst-throated hummingbird. The images are taken from original watercolors by Christiane Dobbins.
