Hummingbird - Pink Throated Anna's Hummingbird Glass Coaster

My goal: to capture the elusive pink Anna’s hummingbird. It wasn’t just any bird—it was a living jewel, a flash of iridescent rose that seemed to dance on the wind. The soft light of dawn painted the sky as I set out on my walk, camera in hand. I moved quietly through the trail, my eyes scanning every flowering bush, every branch. The world around me came alive—the chatter of sparrows, the rustle of leaves—but the hummingbird remained unseen. My steps slowed as I neared a patch of bright fuchsia blossoms. Surely, this would be the spot. And then, there it was. A streak of pink darted into view, hovering like a tiny miracle. My breath caught, and my hands steadied the camera. Its wings hummed, a blur of motion, as it dipped into the flowers, each movement deliberate and precise. I raised the camera, careful not to startle it. The lens tracked its flight as it flitted from bloom to bloom. Just as I pressed the shutter, it darted away, too fast for me to catch. Frustration bubbled up, but I kept walking, my resolve unshaken. Finally, I saw it again—perched on a thin branch, its feathers glowing like molten pink in the morning sun. This time, I was ready. Click. The moment froze, a perfect image of wonder and light.
