Hudsons Soap Vintage Poster Print
This vintage poster print features a photograph of an old enamel advertising sign for the now defunct Hudson's Soap. Probably dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, the advert extolls the virtues of Hudson's Extract of Soap. "It makes grease fly! Never clogs! Leaves no smell! Knives, Forks & Spoons and Anything Washed with it become Scrupulously Clean and Sweet." But that's not all, folks. "It's equally good for washing clothes!!!" One lady points wearily to the poster, while the other two look distinctly unimpressed! The little dog looks a bit bemused, too. We're not surprised Hudson's Soap went to the wall! Fittingly, the poster is nailed to an old worn fence that's also seen better days. Very atmospheric - and fun! The photograph was taken at Summerlee Heritage Centre, Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK, Europe.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
