Howl Ginsberg T-Shirt

Words and short phrases from the poem, Howl, by Ginsberg are used to make the face of the moon and the "O" in Howl. Howl was published in 1956. The book was seized by US Customs officials and San Fransisco Police for breaking obscenity laws. After a series of long court trials a group of professors and poets persuaded the court that Howl was not obscene. The book Howl, and obscenity trials, brought the beat poets into the light and wwere instrumental in launching the counter culture that began in the sixties and continues today.
