Hot Goddess Power Babes Shirt

This is a story of art projects gone wrong. I was at a women's retreat and we were all told that at some point during the day we were to go to the retreat studio and make a collage about friendship. I thought I was supposed to make a collage about my friends and our friendship. The studio had bins of magazines and several other ladies were flipping through the pages and cutting out images of cooking and fashion and stuff that simply left me cold. So I abandoned the magazines and started digging through the construction papers. I pulled out a page of black for my background and the brightest colors I could find because my friends are these bright bright colors in the dark places of my life. Then I made a wood-fired oven because my friends helped me build mine. My friends are goddesses so I made paper-doll cutouts of two classic neolithic goddess forms and made them dance around the oven. And what else are my friends? My friends are babes. They are hot and they are powerful. Together we cook up power in the oven of our friendship. So I added some words. When time came to show our collages to our groups I realized the mistake I had amde about the directions and explained that my collage was about my friends, not about friendship in teh abstract and one women said, "Ht Goddess Power Babes! I love it!"
