    Inspired by the right panel of the Anglo-Saxon Franks Casket from 8th-century England, this contemporary artistic interpretation portrays an equine creature, Hos, sitting on a 'sorrow-mound' and holding branches. She is facing a person, possibly Ertae, who is armed with a spear, a shield, and a helmet. The scene depicted is one of the most enigmatic of Anglo-Saxon art, but has also inspired a range of interpretations and theories.
