This design features a painting by the French artist Théodore Géricault (1791–1824), who was one of the pioneers of the Romantic movement. It shows a horse being attacked by a lion in an overgrown forested landscape. The horse has a white coat with a long mane and tail. The lion has jumped onto the horse's back and it is grasping onto the poor animal with its claws. The lion is aggressively and viciously biting into the horse with its mouth. The horse appears to be afraid and in pain. It is a scene from the artist's imagination, since these two animals would be unlikely to meet one another in the wild.
