Honu, are the scared green sea turtle of Hawaii, we honour them here in these tapa designs. Tapa or Kapa (in Hawaiian) was made from the bark of mamaki or wauke. It was used mainly as cloth for clothing and for sleep coverings or bedding. We have taken tapa cloth motifs and combined them with Polynesian tattoo elements to create these vintage looking designs.

It’s polyester but it’s sturdy and the base sits flat on the ground so it’s able to stand up without falling over when there’s contents in it.
