"Douglass argued against poor negroes leaving the South" African-American artist, Jacob Lawrence, painted his Migration Series in 1941. Like much of his powerful work, this series of 61 panels captured the essence of important issues from Black History. Combining contrasting styles and subject matter with poignant text, this series touched on the multifaceted nature of a people on the move.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
