The Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, in sculpture form, directs his gaze towards one of the buildings of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. Andersen's statue stands on the street named after him -- H.C. Anderson Boulevard, which is one of Copenhagen's widest and busiest boulevards. Tivoli gardens is a famous amusement park and garden, which opened in August 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. Behind the Andersen statue is the City Hall and City Hall Square. Andersen spent many years in Copenhagen.
Andersen was a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels and poems, but he most remembered for his fairy tales, which have been translated into more than 125 languages. His most famous tales include "The Emperor's New Clothes," "The Little Mermaid," "The Nightingale," "The Snow Queen," "The Ugly Duckling," "The Little Match Girl," and "Thumbelina."

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
