Haida Sun Mask Ceramic Tree Decoration

A Haida inspired sun design with a face at the centre. Eight stylised rays reach out from the middle of the star creating symmetrical pattern. The design is coloured the traditional read and black that is highlighted to create a light shine on the surface. A shadow falls onto the beige background making the mask appear to float just above the surface of this ornament. Two hands fall just beneath the tooth filled mouth which gives this native pattern an aggressive and stylish look.

I was extremely happy to find a tree ornament for my Occupational Therapist daughter. (I bought one a few years ago for my Paramedic son) & prior to seeing this I was trying to work out how I could create something similar for her.
