Gustav Klimt Fir Forest Tannenwald Red Trees Poster

Gustav Klimt Fir Forest Tannenwald Red Trees Poster

Vintage Gustav Klimt Fir Forest - Art Nouveau Red Trees This beautiful vintage paintings of trees is by master artist Gustav Klimt. The painting, called Fir Forest I, or Tannenwald, shows us a beautiful landscape with Red Fir Trees, through a dense forest. Gustav Klimt captured the feeling of vibrance in this landscape painting. Fir Forest was painted in 1901, during Klimt's 'Golden Phase' when he was most successful, and many of his paintings were created with gold leaf. He was president and member of the Vienna based Secessionist movement during this time, and was a major artist in the Art Nouveau age. Aside from his famous figure drawings, trees and forests were a subject that seriously interested Klimt. He would take summer holidays on the shores of Attersee, where he painted many trees, and he became known by locals as Waldschrat ("Forest demon"). In 2006, a similar painting by Gustav Klimt called "birch forest" sold at auction for $40.3 million.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
