There is much lore regarding the legend of the shamrock and its association with St. Patrick's Day. The most commonly held belief is that Patrick was preaching to the Celts who were, at that time, druids, of a pagan religion. He was explaining how, in Christianity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit were individual elements of the One, whole God. It is said that he plucked a shamrock, growing nearby, illustrating the three leaves of the one plant. The name "shamrock" is thought to come from the Irish word for clover. On March 17th, the shamrock can be seen (virtually) all over the world. Despite the familiarity of this symbol, few that celebrate on St. Patrick's Day actually know the significance of this humble little plant. This guest book is divine! I was looking for something unique for my daughter’s 21st and this is perfect. The size was slightly bigger than I was expecting (not a bad thing) and I love that the pages are lined on one side. I was struggling to find something that was catered to a wedding - and this was perfect. The material feels almost like a suede and is stunning. LOVE!!
