Grand Trunk Ry Portland, Maine Steamship Wharf Poster
The Portland, Maine steamship wharf of the Grand Trunk Railway, at the India Street yard, circa 1880s. The first Transatlantic steamship arrived here in 1853, inaugurating transatlantic service with the Grand Trunk. The ship seen to the left was the Parisian, built in 1880 for the Allan Line Montreal Ocean Steamship Company; scrapped in 1914. Sailed from Liverpool to Canada and USA. In 1912, the Parisian was the closest ship to the Titanic with GTR President Charles Melville Hays aboard, yet the wireless operator had gone to bed; ironically, the Parisian was the first steamship to be fitted with wireless, in 1902.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
