Goldeneye Ducks Out There

This Barrows Goldeneye couple are swimming along the Tacoma Waterfront on a sunny winter day. The male in his black and white plumage is ahead, with his wife bringing up the rear in her brown and grey colours. Both have the characteristic bright yellow eye, for which they are named. The female's yellow bill and the male's crescent-shaped white facial marking show that they are the Barrows rather than the Common Goldeneye. Against the blue water at the top of the image are the words, "Get Out There" in white script. Inside the card reads, "We go for a walk, they go for a swim. Either way, enjoy your day!"
