Girl with the Pearl Earring Poster
Girl with the Pearl Earring. It is an oil on canvas painted in c. 1665 by baroque Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.
Although today the painting is universally recognised by the title "Girl with the Pearl Earring", it originally went by different names for more than three hundred years because the artist did not give it a title.
The identity of the model, also, remains a mystery to this day, although there are theories that it is the artist's eldest daughter, Maria. There is, however, no historical evidence to support this.
Not quite a portrait, the painting is a "tronie", an exaggerated study in expression. In this Vermeer piece the exaggeration is the giantic pearl earring.
The Mauritshuis museum in The Hague, Netherlands, is the current home for the Vermeer masterpiece.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
