A 19th and 20th century Italian Pianist, Music educator and composer., born in Naples, the daughter of composer Michele Ruta and English Singer Emilia Sutton. After being widowed at the age of 27 with 2 children, she began composing. She moved to New York City, taught private lessons in Greenwich Village. During her lifetime she composed more than 125 works for piano and Orchestra. She also composed for opera. At the age of 79 she died of a cerebral haemorrhage in Manhattan.Add description here.
