German Whaling Ships Diana & Anne 1800's Tie

James H Wheldon Whaling Ships Diana & Anne in Artic The Diana was a 350 tonne German built steam/sail whaler. Based out of Hull and under the command of Captain John Gravill she is remembered for an ill-fated 14 month voyage in 1866-7 where she was icebound for six months. 13 crew members including the Captain did not survive. In 1868 she was wrecked off the Lincolnshire coast signalling the end of Hull's whaling trade. The Anne is a pleasure craft registered in Germany has a mainmast that is 48 m tall and 25 sails. The Anne was used as a training ship for young sailors in the German merchant marine

I originally ordered 1 tie to test and ensure I liked it with the suits we had ordered! The tie came and it was perfect! We loved it! The colours were bright and the tie was beautifully made. I then ordered the 6 additional ties and the colours are slightly different. The 6 ties were a little less vibrant and the white background was slightly different! .
