Gentlemen Playing a Game of Chess (Thomas Eakins) Stone Coaster

This design features a painting by the American artist Thomas Cowperthwait Eakins (1844–1916). It depicts a group of gentleman playing a game of chess in an elegant sitting room of a grand house. There are two men playing chess and another man is standing and watching the game. The chess game is set up on a table surrounded by chairs on a luxurious red carpet. The room is wood-panelled, and there is another table with glasses of port wine for the gentleman to drink. There is a small black cat sitting calmly beside one of the chess players. The original artwork was painted by Thomas Eakins in 1876.
