The photos were taken during the Harriman expedition to Alaska by well-known USGS geomorphologist and geologist, Grove Karl Gilbert. The photos have been assembled into the panorama shown on the mug by GEOLOGY WORKS. The original images can be accessed at the USGS Photographic Library website.
