G.H. Breitner, Girl in a White Kimono - Fine Art Poster
NewparkLaneArtGifts- Poster with a vintage (19th century) Fine Art oil painting of a Girl in a White Kimono by the famous Dutch painter George Hendrik Breitner from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
Inspired by Japanese prints, Breitner painted this in 1894, as one of a series of thirteen paintings of a girl in a kimono. She assumes different poses and the kimono often has a different colour. What catches the eye here is the embroidered, white silk kimono with red-trimmed sleeves and an orange sash. The dreamy girl is sixteen-year-old Geesje Kwak, a seamstress and one of Breitner’s regular models.

A truly great product. The printing is so crisp and perfect. And the poster is of a high quality and strength. The picture is so dark and brooding, and the reproduction is incredible. All the deep and mysterious colors are so perfect and exact.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
