A realistic painting of Fuchsia flowers that was painted by Japanese artist Tanigami Konan (1879 - 1928). Konan is best known for 'bird and flower' paintings known as 'kacho-e'. Originally painted on woodblock. Fuchsia are a beautiful, shrubby favourite garden plant with showy pink, purple and red flowers. Native to Central & South America as well as Hispaniola and surrounding islands. This vintage Japanese nature art was painted in 1917.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
