Paul Cézanne (19 January 1839 – 22 October 1906) was a French artist and Post-Impressionist painter whose work laid the foundations of the transition from the 19th-century conception of artistic endeavour to a new and radically different world of art in the 20th century.
Cézanne is said to have formed the bridge between late 19th-century Impressionism and the early 20th century's new line of artistic enquiry, Cubism. Cézanne's often repetitive, exploratory brushstrokes are highly characteristic and clearly recognisable. He used planes of colour and small brushstrokes that build up to form complex fields. The paintings convey Cézanne's intense study of his subjects. Both Matisse and Picasso are said to have remarked that Cézanne ""is the father of us all"". Quote:Wikipedia

I was a bit disappointed to find that for the price the puzzle was only a small 252 pieces ..... but ....... it is so intricate that if it was bigger I would be frazzled by now
bought as a special Christmas jigsaw for work colleagues to play with in our breaks - it is a great way to get the team to collaborate on something fun, and to start conversations between folk, and a great positive opportunity to provide compliments on the effort put in and progress being made
the puzzle itself is beautifully made - each piece feels lovely (not a cheap cardboard puzzle) and the shapes are all similar but different
Still a work in progress after a week - it's great!!!!
a truly lovely thing ... it will come out each year - both at work and at home. great image, and fantastic finish on the pieces
