French Revolutionary Calendar for 2019
The French Revolutionary Calendar or Republican Calendar was introduced at the beginning of the French Republic. Usage of the calendar meant that many events of the French Revolution are known by their revolutionary dates (18 Brumaire and 9 Thermidor). Under the last version of the calendar, the new year begins in September, so year 227 has begun before 2019.
This is a conventional, Gregorian calendar but uses artwork from historical, revolutionary calendars. Depictions for the 12 months of the revolutionary calendar (Vendémiaire, Germinal, Brumaire, Floréal, Frimaire, Prairial, Nivôse, Messidor, Pluviôse, Thermidor, Ventôse, and Fructidor) are matched with the closest conventional month. Great for the francophile, history buff, or French Revolution enthusiast. A gift for the New Year or Bastille Day.
Art by Philibert-Louis Debucourt, Salvatore Tresca, and Louis Lafitte. The back depicts another revolutionary institution, the Festival of the Supreme Being.

Before purchasing, I contacted Naomi about the recommended size and layout. She recommended the single page so that the front cover will look right. She also recommended either the small or medium size. I purchased the medium size calendar, single page layout per month, and I love it! The photos are beautiful! I understand that the smaller size is 11" x 7" and I wanted something larger than that. The medium size measures 16.5" x 10.75". The images look great!
