Fr3d3rick Bailey Douglass: Civil Rights Legend Photo Print

Fr3d3rick Bailey Douglass, born into the brutal reality of slavery in Maryland around 1818, defied the chains of oppression to become a beacon of freedom and equality. His exact birthdate remains unknown, a stark reminder of the dehumanising nature of slavery. - Separated from his mother at a tender age, young Fr3d3rick endured the harsh realities of plantation life. Yet, a spark of defiance ignited within him. When Sophia Auld, the wife of his master, began teaching him the alphabet, a gateway to knowledge opened. Despite the risks, Fr3d3rick devoured books and newspapers, expanding his mind and fuelling his determination. - In 1838, at the age of 20, Fr3d3rick seized the opportunity to escape to freedom. He boarded a train disguised as a sailor and embarked on a perilous journey north. After arriving in New York City, he embraced a new identity, taking the name Douglass. - With newfound freedom, Fr3d3rick dedicated his life to the abolitionist movement. His powerful oratory skills and compelling narratives exposed the horrors of slavery, captivating audiences and inspiring change. His first autobiography, "Narrative of the Life of Fr3d3rick Douglass, an American Slave," became a bestseller, shattering stereotypes and galvanising the anti-slavery movement. - Fr3d3rick's unwavering commitment to justice extended beyond the abolition of slavery. He advocated for women's suffrage, fought for civil rights, and served as a diplomat and advisor to presidents. His eloquent speeches and writings continue to resonate, inspiring generations to strive for a more just and equitable society. - Fr3d3rick Douglass's legacy is etched in the annals of history. His courage, intellect, and unwavering belief in human dignity serve as a testament to the power of the individual to overcome adversity and shape the course of history. - Portrait of Black civil rights hero Fr3d3rick Bailey Douglass “1818-1895 is Public Domain. I have to spell Fr3d3rick different because an a$$h0le clothing company wants to trademark names of historical people, so immoral.

Thank you to the Zazzle team. I have purchased from you previously, and I have always been happy with the items I have purchased. This is a beautiful poem, I love having this poem to read and to know that one day I will see my beautiful puppy dog again. I love the idea of the rainbow bridge. I think all pet owners will understand the love we share and have for our pets. This is a sad poem but in a happy way. I will read this every day and think of my puppy dog. The poem is presented beautifully, with a beautiful background, and high quality paper. I'm very happy with how it turned out, and I love that it can be personalised with our pets name and their date of birth and passing. To any pet owner who has lost their beautiful dog, I highly recommend this poem. Thank you again for creating this beautiful and unique product.
