Forum Boarium, Rome Poster
Black and white, architectural detail from a remnant at the Forum Boarium. Photography by Minerva Bloom. The forum was the oldest forum that Rome possessed. It was near the Tiber between the Capitoline, the Palatine and Aventine hills. The Boarium was by the premier port of Rome (Port Tibernius), and experienced intense commercial activity. The Forum Boarium was the site of the first gladiatorial contest at Rome which took place in 264 BC. The site was also a religious centre housing the Temple of Hercules Victor, the Temple of Portunus, and the massive 6th or 5th century BC Altar of Hercules.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
