Fortune tarot card poster
For the (wheel of) Fortune card I thought a fortune teller decked out in Mardi Gras colours made the most sense. She wears a sphinx headdress and is gazing into her crystal ball. I took the symbolism found on the Rider Waite deck and tweaked and twisted it but you can see anubis on the right and the dragon on the left.
There's a fortune cookie placed out front and a very veiled reference to the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The arrows up top for pestilence, the empty mortar and pestle for famine, the skull candle holders for death and on the coins to the right there's symbols for war. Money and war being linked? Who would've thunk it?

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
