This is an antique print from 1884 entitled "The Inspector's Model." In this seemingly brutal photo, we see how police of the Victorian Age were forced to hold prisoners down to take a mug shot. Many criminals of the time were greatly reluctant to have their photos taken, and many also tried to spoil the shots with closed eyes, etc. There is some discoloration to the photo due to age.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
