Fluke Rush Bumper Sticker

On February 29, 2012, American conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh mocked Georgetown law student and women's rights advocate Sandra Fluke for her testimony before the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee in support of mandated private health coverage for contraceptives, calling her a "prostitute". The comments were interpreted as misogynistic in nature, and the comments caused a backlash that manifested and organised itself on social media, pressuring companies to stop supporting the show. By the morning of March 3, numerous sponsors had announced they were discontinuing their advertising campaigns with Rush Limbaugh and his associated Clear Channel.
